As well as offering fascinating cultural, artistic and historical insights, Castel di Sangro is the ideal place to spend some free time dedicated to sport and having fun. In recent years the town has greatly increased its sporting facilities and opportunities for recreational activities.


It boasts an excellent stadium, home ground of the local football team currently playing in the the C2 National League.

Close by is the inviting Federal Tennis Centre with its 16 cement tennis courts.

Furthermore, in the same area there is a sports centre for Basketball and Volleyball.

The town has it’s own aquatic amusement park with waterslides, a swimming pool and wave machine and an artificial lake for pedalos and windsurfing. There is also another lake for competitive trout fishing.
This is the most popular sport in Castel di Sangro, not only due to the splendid locations which surround the town, but also the tradition of great local champions competing on the global stage.

Moving back towards the centre of town one can enjoy pleasurable moments of relaxation in the Public Park. An ideal place to wander around whilst remaining close to the centre, and perfect for children to play in it’s well-equipped playground.
